'AFTER 9/11'
‘After 9/11’ was unveiled in Battersea Park on 5th September to mark the launch of the 9/11 Education Programme.
The World Trade Center steel was gifted to London by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to be permanently displayed in a prominent, Central London location. London was the only European capital to have received this honour.
Wandsworth Council kindly agreed to host the artwork in Battersea Park for one month in September, and we are now actively pursuing a permanent location for ‘After 9/11’.
The artwork has received a tremendous reaction from both the media and the public, but it now has to be temporarily moved into storage while a Central London location is assured.
The 9/11 London Project team and the Institute of Education hope that the artwork will help to give the education programme an important extra dimension, while providing the UK with a permanent symbol of hope for the future.
