THE 9/11 EDUCATION PROGRAMME

The 9/11 Education Programme provides teachers with the resources to explore the events, causes and consequences of 9/11, designed to be used by teachers flexibly across the secondary curriculum through subjects including English & Drama, History, Art & Design, Citizenship and RE. The focus of the resources is on understanding, on developing the critical thinking skills of young people and on encouraging intercultural dialogue.  Understanding the events of 9/11 provides a basis for making sense of important issues including terrorism, American and UK foreign policy, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan – all of which shape the contemporary world.

The programme draws together video and paper-based resources and is delivered via the interactive website: www.911educationprogramme.co.uk

The programme was launched on September 5th 2011 and is currently being taught in schools accross the UK.
